Fifty years of the same good idea
Ralph Lauren’s trick has never changed: take classic pieces — the oxford, the polo, the field jacket — cut them properly, and let them age into a wardrobe instead of out of it. That’s why a decade-old RL oxford still buttons up for work, and why the pony on the chest reads the same at a barbecue and a boardroom lunch. The pieces at Outfitly lean on that core: shirts, jackets and tracksuits from the lines people actually wear, in colours that were never in fashion because they never left it.
The range at Outfitly
Shirts
Polos and oxford button-downs — the two shirts every wardrobe argument ends with. Every colour, every fit cut.
Jackets
Quilted, harrington and bomber styles — the outer layer that works over a polo and over a decade.
Tracksuits
Fleece sets with the pony — heritage gone casual, and the RL pieces that get the most hours per week.
Decode the fits before you order
The most common Ralph Lauren mistake isn’t the size — it’s the cut. The same “medium” exists in several fits, and they wear very differently:
| Fit label | How it cuts | Pick it if |
|---|---|---|
| Classic fit | The roomiest — generous chest and body, traditional | You want comfort, layering room, or the old-school drape |
| Custom slim | The middle path — trimmed body, normal armholes | You want it neat but not tight; the safest modern pick |
| Slim fit | Closest cut — fitted chest, tapered body | You’re lean, or wearing it tucked and sharp |
Rule of thumb: whatever your size, Classic wears one look bigger and Slim one look smaller than Custom Slim. Each product page at Outfitly names the cut — check it before the size.
Before you order
How does Ralph Lauren sizing run overall?
True to size within each cut — the cut is the variable, not the size. Take your usual size and choose the fit from the table above. Between sizes in Custom Slim or Slim, go up; in Classic, go down.
What should I check on arrival?
The usual quality marks: even embroidery on the pony, clean button stitching, and the fit label matching what you ordered. Every piece is checked before it ships from us, and if anything’s not right, tell us before wearing — exchanges are simplest with tags on.
The order that works: one oxford in white or blue, one polo in a colour you’ll actually wear, then the jacket that matches your week — quilted for cold commutes, harrington for everything else. The tracksuit joins whenever comfort wins. Four pieces, ten years of wear.
